CHRISTIAN INITIATION

Here may the waters of baptism overwhelm the shame of sin; here may your people die to sin and live again through grace as your children.

(Rite of Dedication of a Church and an Altar, 1977)

Infant Baptisms

  • Infant Baptisms are celebrated in the Cathedral on the 2nd Sunday of the month at 2:15 p.m. in English and every 3rd Sunday of the month at 2:15 p.m. in Spanish. (Kindly refer to Hispanic Ministries.)

·         Parents must contact Rev. Mr. Peter Boulware at 415-626-4692 for Baptism Preparation class information. Or you can use his e-mail: pjboulware@sbcglobal.net

·         The Church expects that the parents and the sponsors attend the preparation classes so that they are prepared for this first sacramental encounter and celebration with their child.

·         Pre-Baptismal instructions are given in English on the 1st Sunday of the month in the lower level of the Cathedral. The parents and the sponsors are invited to gather at the office of the Cathedral at 1:00 p.m. These classes last approximately one hour.

·         The Pre-Baptismal instructions in Spanish are usually given in two classes on every 1st and 2nd Sunday of the month at 12:30 p.m. in the lower level of the Cathedral. These two classes constitute the prescribed preparation. (Kindly refer to Hispanic Ministries.)
